Fundamental Beliefs
of the Church Of God In Training For The Kingdom

1. We believe God consists of two immortal beings of spirit composition. (John 1:1-2; John 4:24; 1 Timothy 6:15-16)

2. We believe these two God beings form a hierarchy, with God the Father in authority and the Word (Spokesman), who later was called the Son (Jesus Christ), carrying out His Father’s instructions. (John 6:38; John 5:19; John 8:28; John 14:28)

3. We believe a created angel (Lucifer) of spirit composition, and the angels with him, attempted a hostile takeover, which was the first recorded rebellion in God’s creation. This Lucifer is now called Satan the devil and the angels with him are called demons. (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:14-16; Revelation 12:7-9)

4. We believe God created man in His image, of physical composition, with the potential to be born of spirit composition into the God family. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7; John 3:5-8)

5. We believe the Bible (Genesis to Revelation) is the only inspired Word of God, containing instructions for human conduct and revealing God’s purpose for mankind. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Corinthians 10:1-11; Acts 24:14)

6. We believe Adam, and subsequently all mankind, rejected God the Father’s instructions, followed Satan, and were cut-off from being begotten of His Holy Spirit (with the exception of a few individuals God hand-picked). Christ then came in human form to restore access to the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 2:15-17; Genesis 3:11-12; Genesis 3:22-24; Hebrews 11:13; Acts 1:4-8)

7. We believe the Holy Spirit, which is the composition of God the Father, which comes from God the Father, is the key that unlocks our understanding of His Word (the Holy Bible) and enables us to obey Him. Without receiving (being begotten of) God’s Holy Spirit, one cannot be born into the God Family. (John 14:26; Ezekiel 36:26-27; Romans 8:7-8; John 3:5)

8. We believe God the Father is choosing a bride (the Church) for His Son Jesus Christ and began doing so on the first Pentecost (an annual Sabbath) after Christ ascended to heaven, when God’s Holy Spirit was made available. (John 6:44,65; Revelation 19:7; Acts 2:1)

9. We believe the bride (the Church) is comprised of those called, chosen and faithful, who have repented and overcome Satan. The bride will then become the wife of Jesus Christ at His return, and reign with Him for 1,000 years. (Matthew 22:14; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 2:26; Acts 2:38; Revelation 20:4)

10. We believe those that God the Father calls and chooses, that are begotten of His Spirit, have direct communication with Him through His Son Jesus Christ, the Savior. (Matthew 6:9; Ephesians 2:18; John 15:16)

11. We believe the ten commandments are foundational principles for life, which teach us how to love, and that they must be kept in the spirit (mind). (Exodus 20:6; 2 Corinthians 3:3,6; John 15:10; 1 John 5:3; 2 John 6; Matthew 22:36-40; Revelation 22:14)

12. We believe the Sabbaths (weekly and annual) are commanded Holy Days, which reveal the master plan of God. They were instituted for the purpose of spiritual education and preparation of the bride of Christ and her children to follow (the rest of mankind), to be born into the family of God and participate in His creative efforts for all eternity. (Exodus 31:13; Leviticus 23; Ezekiel 20:12; Hebrews 2:5-8; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10; Romans 6:23; Isaiah 9:7)
